Advertising on The Joe Rogan Experience is sold by Spotify's own sales team, not by Rogan and not through a self-serve dashboard. No price list is published. The last reported minimum spend was $1 million, from 2021. Measured audience data today puts a single host read somewhere around $90,000 to $180,000 at normal podcast CPMs. That is a brand-awareness budget line for a national advertiser. For almost everyone else, the useful question is what the same money buys on shows you can actually book.

This guide separates the numbers that are sourced from the ones that are repeated, shows how a brand would actually get on the show, and prices out the alternative. If you are new to buying audio, our overview of podcast advertising and how to sponsor a podcast directly covers the formats and pricing models first.

How much does it cost to advertise on Joe Rogan?

There is no public rate card, so every figure you see is either a reported minimum or an estimate. Two numbers circulate. The first is a $1 million minimum spend to advertise on the show through Spotify, reported by The Verge's Hot Pod newsletter in December 2021 and summarized by Podnews at the time. It dates from the years when the show was exclusive to Spotify, and nothing more recent has replaced it. The second is a $120,000 minimum, which comes from an ad agency's guide with no stated source or date and has since been repeated by sports and entertainment sites. Treat the first as old but reported and the second as unverified.

You can sanity check both with arithmetic, because podcast ads are priced on CPM, the cost per thousand downloads. A host-read 60 second spot on Libsyn Ads' published 2026 rate card costs $24 to $26 per thousand. Apply that to the measured audience and one read on JRE lands in six figures:

Audience per episodeWhere the estimate comes fromOne read at $25 CPMOne read at $50 CPM
About 3.6 million audio downloadsPodscribe data for 2025, as analysed in a 2026 Health Affairs Scholar study (805.6 million downloads over 225 episodes)About $90,000About $180,000
About 5.3 million downloads and viewsForbes' 2026 figure of more than 80 million monthly downloads and views across roughly 15 episodesAbout $133,000About $265,000
11 million per episodeA 2022 claim still quoted widely, not supported by current measurementDo not useDo not use

Our arithmetic, not a quote. The largest shows usually command a premium over the average host-read rate, which is why the $50 column is the more realistic ceiling. Either way, the unsourced $120,000 figure looks plausible as the price of a single read, and a campaign of several reads across a quarter lands close to the old $1 million minimum.

Who sells advertising on The Joe Rogan Experience?

Spotify does. When Rogan renewed with Spotify in February 2024, the show stopped being exclusive and returned to YouTube, Apple Podcasts and other apps, but Spotify kept the advertising. Variety reported the deal as worth up to $250 million, with Rogan paid a minimum guarantee plus a share of ad revenue, and Spotify handling distribution and ad sales. TechCrunch quoted a podcast executive describing Spotify's real prize as being his exclusive ad seller. The feed is hosted on Megaphone, which Spotify owns, and Forbes has described the 2024 agreement as a three year contract.

This matters for buyers because it rules out most of the pages that rank for "advertise on Joe Rogan". Brokers with a phone number, and marketplace listings for fan review shows with similar names, cannot sell you a read on the real show. One broker page even notes that Spotify manages the ad sales.

How do you advertise on Joe Rogan's podcast?

You go through Spotify's advertising sales team. Spotify's own podcast ads page says that to access custom podcast sponsorships such as host-read ads, you contact your Spotify representative. Spotify has also marketed premium title-based sponsorships on top shows, naming The Joe Rogan Experience, alongside cheaper audience-based buys. In practice that means a managed campaign with an insertion order, a creative brief, a flight of several episodes and a budget in the range discussed above.

  1. Contact Spotify Advertising sales through its business site and ask specifically for a title-based sponsorship on the show, rather than audience targeting.
  2. Expect a minimum and a flight. Premium sponsorships are sold as packages across episodes, not as one-off reads.
  3. Prepare a brief the host can read naturally. JRE sponsors are read by Rogan in his own style, so talking points and an offer work better than a script.
  4. Set up a trackable offer such as a vanity URL or promo code before the first episode airs.

Can a small business advertise on Joe Rogan?

Not with a named host read. A small business can use Spotify Ads Manager, which has a published minimum budget of 250 in your local currency and lets you target podcast categories, episode topics, demographics and location. Those ads are placed by audience and context, not by show, so you might run inside a JRE episode among many others, but you cannot choose it, guarantee it or get Rogan to read your ad. The same applies to programmatic buys through Spotify's ad exchange.

If what you actually want is the effect of a trusted host recommending your product to a loyal audience, that is available well below six figures on shows in your niche. More on that below.

Who advertises on Joe Rogan?

Large direct-response brands with national distribution. Sponsorship trackers list Perplexity, DraftKings, AG1, BetterHelp and Visible on recent episodes, and ZipRecruiter, Squarespace, The Farmer's Dog, LifeLock, Liquid I.V., ExpressVPN and Eight Sleep have all appeared on the show. Sports betting is an especially heavy category: the Health Affairs Scholar study estimated that JRE took 13.9% of all sports betting podcast ad spend it measured in 2025, about $8.8 million.

The pattern is worth noticing. These are brands with a promo code, a product anyone in the US can buy online, and a budget large enough that a six figure read is one test among many. If your product is regional, B2B or niche, a huge general audience mostly pays for listeners who can never become customers.

Does Joe Rogan read his own ads?

Yes. Rogan reads the sponsor segments himself, usually two or three sponsors per episode, in a conversational style rather than a script. Reads typically run at the start of the episode with one or two more partway through, a pattern that became more visible after the 2024 renewal. That host-read format is the reason brands pay a premium: listeners hear a recommendation from a voice they trust, not a produced commercial.

What does a Joe Rogan budget buy on other podcasts?

The same host-read format costs far less on mid-size shows, and you can choose exactly who hears it. Using the Libsyn Ads midpoint of $25 CPM for a 60 second host read, and a show with 50,000 downloads per episode in its first 30 days, one spot costs about $1,250:

BudgetImpressions at $25 CPMHost reads on 50,000 download showsImpressions at a $40 niche CPM
$10,000400,0008250,000
$50,0002,000,000401,250,000
$120,0004,800,000963,000,000

Illustrative arithmetic, not a quote. The trade is concentration against control. One JRE read reaches millions of people at once with a single creative. Ninety-six reads across a portfolio of shows reach a comparable number of impressions, spread over hosts whose audiences you picked, with enough separate placements to learn which shows convert and cut the rest. For a brand without national awareness goals, the second option is usually the better use of the same budget, and the minimum spend on each podcast network shows where a smaller test can start.

Buying from the shows directly also removes a layer. Networks and agencies add their margin on top of the host's rate. On a sponsorship marketplace, podcasters publish their downloads, formats and rate card, and you contact and pay them directly. On Sponsorships the Brand plan is $79 a month billed yearly and neither side pays commission, so the whole budget goes to the shows. If you want managed reach across many shows instead, our comparison of podcast advertising networks and their minimums covers the main US options.

Is advertising on Joe Rogan worth it?

It can be, for a brand that fits. The show has ranked first in Edison Research's US weekly reach rankings every quarter through the second quarter of 2026, its conversations center on comedy, combat sports, fitness, science and technology, and host reads from a trusted voice convert well for direct-response products. The case is strongest when three things are true: your product sells nationally online, your offer is easy to act on from a spoken code, and a six figure read is a test you can afford to lose.

It is weak when any of those fail. A regional service, a B2B tool with a narrow buyer, or a brand spending its first podcast dollars gets more learning from many smaller placements than from one large one. Whichever route you take, decide before launch how you will measure it: a unique code or URL per show, a post-purchase "how did you hear about us" question, and a single place to see podcast results next to your other ad channels, so a quarter of audio spend is judged on the same numbers as paid social and search.

The short version: Joe Rogan advertising is a Spotify-sold premium sponsorship priced in six figures per read and historically sold against a seven figure minimum. If that is outside your budget, the format is not. Host reads on the right mid-size shows, booked direct, deliver the same kind of recommendation to an audience you chose.
