Heepsy is already one of the cheapest creator search tools you can buy. Its own pricing page lists a free plan, then Starter at $69 a month, Plus at $149 and Advanced at $229, billed yearly ($89, $199 and $299 on monthly billing), with no annual lock-in. So the best Heepsy alternatives are not cheaper versions of Heepsy. They are tools that do one thing Heepsy does not: Modash for a far larger database, HypeAuditor for audience fraud checks, Grin for a Shopify creator CRM, and Sponsorships for podcasts and newsletters that publish a price.

That framing matters because most lists of Heepsy alternatives are written by the alternatives themselves, and each one ranks its own product first. Below are Heepsy's real limits, plan by plan, then each serious alternative with its published price and the specific reason a brand would pay more for it.

How much does Heepsy cost?

Heepsy costs $0 on its free plan, $69 a month for Starter, $149 for Plus and $229 for Advanced when billed yearly. On monthly billing the same plans cost $89, $199 and $299. Heepsy says you can cancel anytime and keep access to the end of the billing period, and larger teams can ask for custom pricing with API access.

PlanBilled yearlyBilled monthlySearch results a monthAdvanced profiles a monthOutreach emails a month
Free$0$050010None
Starter$69 a month ($828 a year)$895,000100300
Plus$149 a month ($1,788 a year)$19925,0005001,200
Advanced$229 a month ($2,748 a year)$29950,0001,0006,000

The column to watch is advanced profiles. A search result is a row with follower counts. An advanced profile is the full audience breakdown plus contact details where the creator made them public, and that is the thing you actually need before you email anyone. On Starter you get 100 of those a month. Creator payments start on Plus, and creator detection (uploading your customer list to find which buyers are creators) is an Advanced feature.

What are the best Heepsy alternatives?

The best Heepsy alternatives are Modash, HypeAuditor, Influencity, Grin and Collabstr for social creators, and Sponsorships for podcasts, newsletters and YouTube placements bought at a listed price. Which one is right depends on the job Heepsy is not doing for you.

Is Modash better than Heepsy?

Modash is better if your niche is small and you keep exhausting Heepsy's results. Modash says it indexes more than 350 million Instagram, TikTok and YouTube profiles, against Heepsy's 20 million or so, and its Essentials plan is $199 a month billed yearly with two seats and a 14-day trial. Heepsy is better on price: its Plus plan costs $149 a month billed yearly and includes creator payments.

Put another way, a year of Modash Essentials ($2,388) buys almost three years of Heepsy Starter ($828 a year). If Heepsy's database returns enough creators who fit, there is no reason to pay that difference. If you are searching for, say, US-based home espresso reviewers under 20,000 followers and Heepsy shows you the same 40 accounts every month, the larger index is what you are paying for. Our Modash alternative and pricing breakdown covers its payment fees and seat limits.

Is there a cheaper alternative to Heepsy?

Not really, among tools that search a creator database. Heepsy Starter at $69 a month billed yearly sits below Influencity Discover ($158 a month billed yearly), Modash Essentials ($199) and HypeAuditor Basic ($299). The two cheaper routes work differently: Heepsy's own free plan, which gives 500 results and 10 full profiles a month, and Collabstr, which is free to browse and takes a 10% fee on each booking.

Collabstr is cheaper only while you book a little. Once you book $10,000 of creator work in a year, its fee ($1,000) passes the cost of a full year of Heepsy Starter. And if what you really need is short product videos to run as ads, rather than posts on the creator's own feed, a marketplace for hiring UGC creators on a fixed brief is a better fit than any search database, because you are buying footage, not reach.

What does a year of creator search cost on each tool?

The fair comparison is the cheapest plan that does the job, paid for a full year. Here is the entry plan of each tool, plus Upfluence, the enterprise option many brands price next.

Tool and entry planOne year at the entry planContract
Sponsorships Brand$594Monthly or yearly
Heepsy Starter$828Monthly or yearly, cancel anytime
Influencity Discover$1,900Monthly or yearly
Modash Essentials$2,388Monthly or yearly
Grin Starter$2,400Month to month
HypeAuditor Basic$3,588Annual
Upfluence Growth$11,94012-month minimum

None of these include what you pay creators, which on almost any real program is the larger number. A brand spending $20,000 a year on creators pays about 4% of that for Heepsy Starter and about 60% for Upfluence Growth. If Upfluence is on your shortlist, our Upfluence alternatives and competitors comparison shows what a three-month test costs on each tool, which is where the 12-month minimum really bites. For HypeAuditor, the HypeAuditor pricing breakdown separates its one first-party price from the directory figures.

When should you switch from Heepsy?

Switch when the limit you keep hitting is something Heepsy does not sell, not when you just want a nicer interface. The four common reasons:

  • Not enough creators in your niche. Move to Modash, or to Influencity if you also want social listening.
  • Audiences that do not convert. HypeAuditor's audience quality checks are the specialist tool here. Run the check before you pay a creator, not after.
  • You pay creators on commission through Shopify. Grin's CRM is built around gifting, discount codes and affiliate payouts, from $200 a month with no annual contract.
  • The placement you want is not a social post. Heepsy searches Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn. It does not list podcasts or newsletters, and nobody in its database has agreed to sponsor anything or quoted a rate.

Can you find podcast and newsletter sponsorships on Heepsy?

No. Heepsy indexes social profiles, so a brand that wants a host-read ad on a podcast or a sponsored slot in a newsletter still has to find the show, find a contact and negotiate a price outside the tool. That is the gap Sponsorships covers. Podcasters, newsletter operators, YouTubers and event organizers who want sponsors list their audience, their formats and a price per placement, and you browse by niche and book directly.

The Brand plan costs $49.50 a month billed yearly, or $99 month to month, and Sponsorships takes 0% commission because you pay the creator directly. What it does not do is search millions of social accounts or audit audiences, so plenty of brands run both: Heepsy for Instagram and TikTok, and a marketplace for podcast advertising bought direct and newsletter sponsorships at listed prices. If you are pricing the whole category at once, our guide to influencer marketing platform pricing puts every vendor that publishes a number side by side.

Heepsy figures here come from Heepsy's own pricing page, and every other price from the vendor's own pricing page or, for Upfluence, its AWS Marketplace listing. Confirm current terms with each vendor before you sign.
